I’m Rachel Pierce, wife, mom, fitness professional, and queen of my kitchen! Having been in the fitness industry for almost 10 years, i’ve been helping people reform their bodies with pilates & barre inspired workouts. i created this site to share my balanced approach to healthy eating that both fuel your workouts and feed your families. i often use kitchen gadgets to make life easier or to make food tastier. most of my recipes are “reformed” versions of classics, or interpreted to my beloved kitchen tools. i hope you enjoy the food i have created.
Ten years ago, I made a complete career change after working my tail off to get an MBA and became a Pilates Instructor/Fitness Professional. Although I felt confident I could have handled life the corporate world, it just wasn’t my passion. I started by teaching Pilates on the Reformer. I couldn’t help but get caught up in that word. Reformer. That’s me. I help reform people’s mind, body, and spirit through Pilates practice. I most certainly reformed my own body, and I wanted to help others do the same. I have been creating healthy recipes for years that I want to share with you.
By title, I am a Fitness Professional. I have many certifications including Pilates, Barre, and other types of fitness coaching. In the gym, I’m all about functional, fun, and innovative exercise. You don’t have to be a fitness professional to know that changing your body starts in the kitchen. I have never been to culinary school, I just have learned to work with healthy food and make it taste good! I love all the new kitchen gadgets on the market that are making it even easier to create healthy recipes. You’ll see many of those on my blog, as well as old-school cooking methods. I just want to make it EASY for you to eat healthy!
I’m 34 years old, I have three children (twin boy/girl, 5 set and another girl,2) and I work at Lifetime Fitness. I feel so lucky to have a job that allows me flexibility as a mother, while enabling me to improve the quality of my life and others. Which brings me to why I started this blog. I truly love helping people meet their fitness goals. It is my passion. I have the most incredible “fit fam” (you know who you are) who inspire me daily to come up with new workouts, playlists, and now…recipes.
As we all know, one cannot be fit on exercise alone. Remember the meme of the chick on the treadmill running for the wine above her head? Yeah, that’s definitely me. There are just certain things I’m not willing to do to be fit. My diet consists mostly of vegetables, lean proteins, fruits, some dairy (so no, I’m not actually Paleo), and wine. I’m about the whole idea of healthy, and making it taste good. Healthy is such a broad/vague term, so let me break it down like this.
Recipes you’re likely to see on this page will include
- Lean Protein/Veggie Instant Pot creations
- Protein filled breakfast ideas
- Salads for days
- Some Crock Pot Fun (again, think light and lean)
- Kids recipes (these will be less healthy, as my kids are not catching on to my healthy lifestyle, but with hidden healthy things in them)
- Products I am buying and using to cook with or just generally like
Hopefully your interest is peaked enough to check out my first recipes! So many more to come and hope you’ll join me on this adventure.11
